The dust extraction unit includes a filter box holding a dust filter bag between the waste collector and the worktop. It has a combination of features, i.e. an intake opening which extends over the entire end face of the filter box from the collector to the worktop and over the entire width of the collector. A connecting duct extends in the worktop between the intake and outlet openings without any substantial constriction. An outlet opening (39) for the filtered air is set remote from the workbench and widens out over a neighbouring surface of the workbench which is not in use. An air distributor chambers of the same cross-section is set directly in front of the outlet opening. A fine dust second filter is mounted between the air distributor chamber and the outlet opening.
