The high voltage circuit breaker has two outer and a centre support insulator. The switch chamber contains two fixed contact elements and two moving elements with a drive mechanism. The current path with the two moving contact elements are supported on the centre insulator. The current path can be deflected by the drive mechanism to make or break the contacts. The centre support insulator (4) is fixed and in parallel with a drive insulator (11) which can be rotated around its own axis (12) by the drive mechanism. There is a transmission mechanism (13) between the top end of the drive insulator and the current path (7).
