The guide piece for a jewelry chain to be worked, e.g. polished, brings the chain by means of a tangential guide (11) between two rotating circular discs (17, 18) which slope towards each other. The tangential guide (11) consists of two support rails (15, 16) which can move horizontally towards each other. A pressure rail (14) moves vertically. The support surface of the rails (15, 16) runs tangentially to the periphery of the two circular disc (17, 18).
