A support frame for overhead electric cables still provides support if one of two support chains fails. The support frame (5) is of a triangular form and is supported by two chains (1, 2) from an overhead gantry or tower (3). The bottom section of the frame carries a flexible link (7) that is supported by pin joints (6, 13) at top and bottom. A bottom strip (11) connects with the support clamp (12) fixed to the cable. Upon failure in one chain the bracket swings through an arc. The flexible link (7) ensures that the bracket is securely held.
