A magazine feed flash unit for clipping into a camera has the flash bulbs electrically fired and moved past a front reflector (2) on a belt drive. The magazine has indexing levers (6) coupled to the film wind-on mechanism as well as contacts (4a, 4b) for the firing pulses. The magazine has a single reflector and a simple belt feed. A counter on the side indicates the number of spent bulbs. The coupling to the camera winder is a simple mechanical lever (6) locating in a drive lever in the recess in the camera where the magazine is located. The magazine is suited for a mass-produced pocket camera.
