The station has a free standing cabin in which the transformer is mounted, with an incoming HV cables and outgoing LV cables. At least one ventilation hole is provided in an outer wall. The ventilation hole has a valve which is automatically opened or closed by a senor for the temp. in the transformer room, so that it is wide open when the room temp. exceeds a specified upper limit of say 35 deg. C, and it is nearly or completely closed when the temp. falls below a lower limit of, say 25 deg. C.
