The ultrasonic flowmeter consists of several pairs of acoustic converters, operating alternately as a transmitter. There is a transit time measuring circuit, which evaluates the flow speed. The value is in the form of an average signal that is a function of the flow. The transit time circuit controls the acoustic converter which transmits short duration pulses. There are two transit time measuring circuits (25, 26) with identical functions.
