Convertible pull-out chair bed with extending carriages - has automatic return of backrest cushion via its traction belt

The cushions of the chain are mounted on the extending carriage whilst the backrest (14) which in the unfolded position forms part of the bed surface is resiliently forced up into the seat position. A draw member (18) passes over a guide pulley (17). It engages on the carriage (2) on one side and on the backrest (14) on the other so that as the carriages (2, 3) are drawn out the belt pulls the backrest against the spring force of its extension (15) into the bed position. As the bed is converted back into the chair the cushion (13) is folded back and the carriages (3, 2) are pushed in where upon the backrest (14) is automatically returned to its upright position.
