In the parent patent, binder-free prints are formed on the surfaces of thermoplastic resin mouldings by printing an intermediate carrier with a dispersion dye using conventional methods, transferring the print from the carrier to the surface of the moulding by contacting the carrier with the moulding and simultaneously heating at temp. sufficient for sublimation and diffusion of the dye. Sublimation is carried out on the formed moulding. In this addition, dye transfer is carried out during moulding. The moulding may be formed by casting, extrusion, pressing, blow- or injection moulding, and the moulding temp. is pref. 60-170 degrees C. The dispersion dye is =0.01-0.1% soluble in the resin moulding at 150-170 degrees C. The dyes may be sintered in the surface of the moulding and these have a mol.wt. of 250-600 and a heat of sublimation of 27-55 Kcal/mol.
