In a flat motor, the wider the stator slot opening, the easier is the mounting of the coil windings. Excessively wide slot openings, however, reduce the effectiveness of the motor. The magnetic wedges are intended for such a flat motor with axial air gaps. The production starts with a stator core, which is embedded in synthetic resin, together with the respective coil windings, in a mould. Thus a stator module is formed with wedge-shaped grooves at the slots for the fitting of the magnetic wedges. In the grooves is moulded a composition consisting of 60 to 95% wt. of iron or iron alloy powder and 40 to 5% wt. of a synthetic resin. Pref. a stator module with radial raised strips is formed for the production of the grooves in each slot. Each such strip is formed with a groove in its middle section. After applying the resin to the mould, this middle section then forms a resin lump.
