The compositive crusher mill has an automatic reversing mechanism for the rolls on overload or on excessive power input to the drive motor. As well as the overload reversing of the motor, the direction of rotation of the crusher rolls is automatically changed over at preset time intervals. Preferably the change-over is effected by a clock controlling a change-over protector via a relay, to reverse the direction of rotation of the drive motor. The duration of the positive reversal is also presettable by the clock. The crushing zone of the mill is thus automatically cleaned at preset time intervals, and the danger of clogging, causing overloads, is prevented.
