摘要

A regulating valve with a body and a piston type stopper which slides in a system of cylindrical cages with perforations in them. These are uncovered progressively during piston movement and so dissipate the greater part of the kinetic fluid energy when the valve closes. The size of the perforations is calculated in accordance with the speed of the fluid and its pressure drop going through the valve. The stopper part can be balanced simultaneously internally and externally. The arrangement lessens wear due to erosion and also noise. It is particularly applicable to high pressure drop valves.
