Automatic trailer coupling system - tractor has plug locking into trailer socket when narrow sections correspond

The trailer (5) consists of a mobile platform with rear wheels and a front support which rests on the ground when not connected to the tractor. The tractor has a pivotable lift whose rear end (4) is formed as a bearer plut to engage with the trailers front support, to lift it clear of the ground and pull the trailer. The trailer front support has an opening which is narrower at the top than the bottom and into which the tractor plug will engage. The trailer plug has a tapered leading edge, to assist entry, widens and then narrows to correspond with the trailer supports narrow section. To couple up the trailer, the tractor reversed until the plug strikes the abutment face which indicated that both narrow sections correspond, the trailer is then raised and the coupling is completed.
