A sepn. plant has =2 centrifugal separators with a tangential inlet for the material to be processed, e.g. a papermaking slurry. There is a central outlet for the coarser bodies contained in the material, and the heads of the centrifugal separators pass through the feed chamber to engage in the outlet chamber. The separators form a unit which can be replaced as a whole, they can receive untreated matter from the feed chamber and deliver the refined material to the outlet chamber. The coarser matter is evacuated away from the feed chamber. The two chambers are formed by long circular or polygonal vessels welded parallel to each other. The design makes it possible to produce large size tubular sepg. centrifuges in an easy and economic manner, partic. for high pressure working.
