Omnidirectional aerial with wide pass band - has horn shape with reflector partially covering mouth of horn

The omnidirectional aerial has a wide pass band and a variable axis of maximum sensitivity. The aerial comprises a horn (1) fed by its entrance (2) and a reflector (3) formed with a point on the axis of symmetry of the horn and in the vicinity of its open end. The surface of the reflector is curved with a profile adapted to the graph of cover required. If a cosecant squared response is required the profile is cosine or sine shaped, but a response symmetric in the pane of the site requires a parabolic profile. The inside of the horn is grooved, (4, 5, 6) this having the advantage of a wide pass band.
