摘要
Contaminated waste waters are filtered through a bed of fossilised C using as the filtrant a ligneous, spongy material of high water-retention capacity, contg. material evolved from living matter, of heterogenous structure, having organic matter destined to be foodstuff for the development of the flora and fauna. This material is deposited in a bed of predetermined thickness to allow rapid drainage without leading to an entrainment of matter. The surface of the filtrant is divided into several zones with automatic permutation of the working zone and resting zones and regulating the speed of drainage after spraying of the bed and the filtration speed at such a rate that the bed is able to undergo a decompression with displacement of the fauna and conservation of its spongy structure and evolved character. The filtrant is pref. a mossy, white or brown peat opt. associated with a spongy, natural or synthetic material, pref. the mossy peat is less than 8000 years old and the brown peat 15000 years. Used for purificn. of municipal and industrial waste waters to allow them to be returned to rivers without pollution. Process has a low electrical energy consumption and gives waters free of suspended matter.
