The spherical tank, esp. suitable for storage of heating oil comprises an inner tank made of plastic and an outer one made of reinforced concrete, and is designed to combine faultless sealing with high load capacity. The outer tank (3) is cast in a single piece, without seams, round the spherical inner tank (2), which may be loosely seated in it and itself cast in a single piece. The inner tank may be sealed off relative to the outer tank, in the area of an entry opening (4), or relative to a flange (5) cast in the outer tank. The steel reinforcement may be assembled from top and bottom cages (9, 10), pref. interconnected in an overlapping area, using wires or clamps.
