Dermatological medicaments contg. cycloheximide analogues - and antiinflammatory steroids for treating proliferative skin disorders e.g. psoriasis

New dermatological medicaments contain (a) a topical carrier, (b) an antiinflammatory glucocorticoid and, in combination with a pharmaceutical carrier, (c) at least one cpd. of formula (I) or (II). In the formulae, R1 is H or 1-3C alkyl; R2 is H, halogen, OH, 1-3C alkoxy, a residue -O-CO-R8 (R8 = 1-3C alkyl), -CH2COCH3, -CH2COC6H5, -CH2COCH2COOCH3, -CH2CH2COOH or -CH=CHC6H5; R3 is H; or R2 + R3 is O; R4 and R7 are H or CH3; R5 and R6 are H, OH or acetoxy; X1 and X2 are H, OH, acetoxy or piperidino; or X1+X2 is =NOH, =N-NH-CONH2, =N-NHCH3, =N-N(CH3)2, =N-NH-CS-NH2, =N-NH-COC6H5, =N-NH2 or =N-NH-COCH2C6H5; R9 is H or OH; and R10 is CH3 or -C(CH3)2-Oh; provided that when R1 and R3 are H, then R2 is OH, and that when R4 and R7 are CH3, then one of R5 and R6 is other than H. The new medicaments are of use in the prophylaxis and treatment of proliferative skin diseases, i.e., benign and malignant disorders characterised by accelerated cell division in the epidermis, dermis and associated tissues.
