The very high power protection device, for an electrified anti-intruder fence, has at least one spark-gap consisting of a first sphere connected to the line conductor and a second sphere connected to earth. The spheres have the same diameter which is at least 5 times as great as the distance separating the spheres. The spheres are mounted on supports inside a closed box and the distance between them and the nearest wall of the box is at least 5 times the sphere radius.
