New variety of oak - is obtained by crossing Quercus Cocciniea with Quercus Palustris

The Quercus Palustris hybrid is obtained by artificial fertilisation by the crossing of a Quercus Palustris known as Quercus Coccinea (otherwise RUTHERFORD) with a new Quercus Palustris obtained from a previous crossing. The plants obtained are selected and finally a single plant only is retained, the eye of which is known commercially as the eye of FLECROW. The plant is erect with branches forming an acute angle of from 30-60 deg. with the central stem and there is a total absence of low hanging branches. It has an insignificant number of flowers and fruit. The plant is very robust, resistant to climatic extremes and transplants easily.
