The sectional building unit consists of a top forming the ceiling (21), a vertical bearing structure, and a horizontal base. The unit is formed of a one piece moulded casing (1a, 2a, 3a) with at least one vertical pier (5a) attached to the casing at the top. The casing has three open sides and is formed by the horizontal and two vertical adjacent surfaces. Embedded in the casing and piers are guide pieces in the form of tubular sections of rectangular cross-section which rest vertically on the horizontal base. Emerging from the top of the casing, straight above the tubular sections is a bent iron loop acting as a lever and fitting into the tubular section of the unit above it.
