Protection and preservation of microorganisms with clay - by mixing aq. suspensions of clay and microorganism, gives prod. used for agricultural purposes

Biologically active microorganisms ar epreserved and protected by mixing an aq. prepn. contg. the microorganisms with an aq. suspension of clay. The aq. prepn. of microorganisms is obtd. from a culture medium by washing several times with water, centrifuging or filtering and then resuspending in water. The suspension is the nmixed with the aq. suspension of clay and excess water is removed to give a compsn. in which the microorganism is coated by the clay. The microorganisms may be symbiotic agens, hypovirulent strains or entomophatogenic agents, chosen from viruses, fungi, bacteria, protozoa etc.
