The coffee making machine effects the synchronised distribution, metering and ejection of coffee grindings during an infusion cycle. A reduction motor with a helicoidally grooved cam and rack and pinion transmission effects distribution, metering, loading, compression, infusion and ejection. The cam acts through a double rack mechanism to coordinate vertical and horizontal translatory movements. The cam has opposed spiral grooving. A lug displaced by the grooves may effect the rise and fall of a platform with an infusion piston, and an integral rack. A vertical support with a reservoir and a scraper may be displaced horizontally by secondary rack engaged by the pinion as driven by the primary rack.
