Mechanical property testing of samples of over-hard material - uses X=ray test of comparison object and material for compressive and bending strength and relaxation time

One of the objects of the test group is chosen as comparison object. It is pulverised by relaxation of microstresses which arise during the manufacture of overload material. X-ray -ratures are taken of at least five objects and of the powder of the comparison object. The spread of the interference lines is measured. The X-ray pictures of the objects are compared with the x-ray picture of the powder. A characteristic parameter is selected and the functional relation between the spread of the X-ray lines of the test objects for this parameter is determined. The mechanical properties are thereby established.
