A method of extracting alcohol from a wet alcohol marc during the drying operation consists of carrying out the drying by conduction. The alcohol is then contained in the liq. from the exchanger condensing the emitted vapour. The cost of energy used in the distn. columns for concentrating the alcohol is lower than in existing processes because the alcohol content is higher. The quantity of odorous gas emitted is smaller and the gas can be easily treated. The condensn. temp. of the vapour is higher, allowing the use of heat emitted by other units in a distillery. Handling is simplified as the marc is transferred only over a single workshop instead of three.
