A testing strip for seeded culture medium, partic. in a Petri dish, and esp. to assess the microbiological reaction between bacteria or pathogens and antibiotics etc. comprises several pref. 3 to 5 coplanar test panels pref. discs, each impregnated with an antibiotic or other reagent to be tested. The panels are mounted separately, one at the extremity of each of a corresp. number of branches extending from a longitudinal support bar. Each branch is treated to provide a barrier preventing the passage of reagent from a panel to the support bar. The barrier is pref. formed by impregnating the branch with wax, paraffin wax, a resin, a silicone or a plastic. Locating lugs are pref. extended outwards from the support bar to serve as abutment locators against the side wall of a P etri dish. The locator tips and disc test panel centres are pref. located on arcs of concentric circles. Used in microbiological medical research to assess the resistance of bacteria or pathogens to treatment with antibiotics etc. The test strip provides a multi-disc assembly to prelace an equivalent number of separate test disc. The strip automatically locates discs on a medium in a P etri dish, saving location time, ensuring accuracy or positioning and flat contact with medium.
