The apparatus assists paraplegic patients to stand unaided and comprises a base provided with foot grips for heel and toe. A vertical column carries a bracket, adjustable for height and padded to support the knees. The patient pulls a lever to open a hinged back supports these also being adjustable. On standing, the patient's arms are held by adjustable arm rests passing each side of the body. The lever is then used to close the padded arms of the back support. A flat working surface is provided at arm rest level.
