The machine has a support arm from which a frame is suspended by a pivotal connection so that it can swing on a vertical plane straddling a row of vines. The frame carries on each arm a device for treating the stocks. The height of this device being adjustable. At the bottom of each arm is fitted a feeler (4, 5). The feelers have bars which converge at a small angle in the direction of advance of the machine. These engage the stocks and centre the frame so that the brushes on each arm engage the stocks.
