The stone collector machine has one or more rotary shafts inclined to the travel direction and with radial tools whose tips enter the ground behind it and emerge in front of it. The machine has a hitch by which it is attached to the front of a tractor, so as to be pushed by it. There can be two converging tool shafts, with means for driving them in the appropriate directions, typically incorporating a hydraulic motor supplied from the tractor system. The design allows a single tractor to work both the machine and a further one to pick up or crush the row of stones collected.
