Natural rubber compsn. contg. carbon black - and peat as filler and peptising agent

Natural rubber compsn. contains C black as reinforcing filler and peat acting both as filler and peptising agent. Amt. of peat is 50-200, pref. 50-100 wt.%, w.r.t. rubber. The peat is dried, ground and sieved and mixed with the rubber prior to adding the C black. Amt. of C black is =70%, pref. amt. being 30-50 wt.% w.r.t. rubber. Incorporation of peat considerably reduces the mixing time required for incorporating the C black into the compsn. and results in an energy saving of 40-50%.
