The traffic light control system is designed to operate at a junction where six roads meet at a roundabout. There are three concentric lanes around the central island, and these are crossed by radial ramps. The ramps have transparent covers under which are mounted coloured signalling lamps. At the corner of each road entering the round-about is a set of traffic lights. The colours indicate by the lights in the radial ramps are intended to guide vehicles through the necessary lane changes to a chosen exit.
