The anti-theft device for securing wheels of motor cars consists of a special nut with a cylindrical body and a flanged base. A number of holes are drilled through the flange with irregular spacing so that a special key is necessary to rotate the nut. The special key is in the form of a socket which can fit over the cylindrical portion of the body. The face of the socket has projecting pegs which match the holes in the nut. The head of the socket has hexagonal flats to suit a spanner.
