The valve body (3), having no flanges, is clamped between the pipe flanges (1, 2) by bolts (4). A protrusion from the valve body (3) necessitates at least one bolt (4) being replaced by two short bolts (10) mounted in integral lugs (7, 8). To make the same valve suitable for different standard flange hole configurations, each lug (7, 8) has an elongated hole (14), while the hole to fit the bolt (10) is in a circular washer (13), offset from its centre. Rotation of the washer (13), combined with the elongated hole (14), allows the bolt (10) to take up different positions to suit different flanges (1, 2).
