Cement calcining plant - includes two separate vertical stacks of preheater cyclones feeding precalcining chamber and rotary drum furnace

The raw material is fed as two separate streams down two vertical stacks of preheater cyclones, which are followed by a precalcining chamber and a rotary drum furnace leading to a clinker cooler. Exhaust gas from furnace flows up a gas duct and into the lowest cyclone in first stack, from which this gas ascends the other cyclones. Raw material leaving cyclone is fed into the bottom end of duct, whereas material leaving the two lowest cyclones in both stacks enters furnace. Raw material leaving cyclone, i.e. the second lowest in second stack enters precalcining chamber, which is fed by air preheatd in the clinker cooler. Both duct and this chamber are fitted with fuel inlets. The deposition of crusts causing blockages inside the plant is avoided; and fuel with a high sulphur content can be used for calcining the cement.
