Hydrostatic manometer probe for oil or petrol gauge - has non-conducting U=shaped tube with one arm having spaced electrodes and common electrode near base
The hydrostatic monometer containing fluid which is a good electrical conductor is used to make electrical contact with a number of electrodes. These electrodes signal the level of fluid to form a petrol or oil gauge. An electrical non conducting U-shaped tube contains fluid of high density. One arm of the tube contains a number of spaced electrodes with a common electrode near the base. An electrical current from a generator is connected to the common electrode and via receiving circuits in series with resistors to the other electrodes. Diodes shunt the receivers to ensure that onl the upper receiver is operative.
