Extraction of sample from grape harvest - using motor driven shaft of endless screw to crush grapes for determining alcoholic contents

During manufacture of wine from the grape harvest it is required to make measurements of alcohol content and quantity to be obtained. This is performed by pressing a sample of the grapes. A sample is obtained by a cylindrical sampler (11) which is operated by a motor (14) driving the shaft (15) of an endless screw (16). The sampler is moved by a carriage (18) on a rail (19) and is located above a juice extractor (21) hopper (23). This contains motor (36) driven cylindrical crushers. The crushed sample is pressed through a grill (33) by a motor (39) driven endless a screw (31) and the juice is received in a collector (34).
