Mole trap buried under mole-hill - is frusto=conical container with smooth walls positioned so that top edge is level with floor of tunnel dug by moles

The mole-catcher is inserted into a hole dug underneath a molehill in the middle of one of the underground tunnels. The top of the trap is level with the floor of the tunnel. The trap is a frusto-conical container and has smooth sides so that the moles that fall into it cannot climb out. The floor of the container is covered with earth and grass so that it is not detected by its smell. Once the trap is in place a rigid cover is put down to cover the hole and this is covered with earth to shut out any light.
