The ashtray ensures that cigarettes are extinguished as soon as they are deposited. It has a trapezoidal cross-section bin with a flap (4) covering half of the top opening. The flap slopes downward so the ashes fall into the container. The bin fits into a wall mounting which also has an inclined fixed flap (14) facing the first flap. There is a gap between the facing edges to permit the introduction of cigarette butts and ashes. The bin is easily removed for emptying but is securely mounted to prevent accidental overturning.
