摘要
The jack-actuated shears may be used in an automobile workshop to cut damaged carbodies. It utilises blades (5, 7, 8) with toothed linear cutting edges. The cutting edges may be formed by half round notches (5a, 7a, 8a) at regular intervals in a straight edge; the half round notches being devoid of any angular formation. Details may include a subframe of robust plate in a approximate 'L' shape with the jack (2) mounted vertically on the top inside face of the arm (1). The jack piston divided the cylinder into two compartments. As one receives liquid under pressure, the piston rod extends (6) to attach to a mobile blade (5) with an inclined cutting edge and a talon (5b). The mobile blade (5) slides along the vertical edge of the sub-frame arm to pass between two parallel plates (7, 8) forming the subframe leg, the latter plates incorporating horizontal counter cutting edges.
