The self-loading vehicle for cylindrical bales of straw, comprises an elongate frame having parallel sides, an openable bottom and at least one open end. The frame is supported by wheels. A pair of movable supports extend along the lower edges of each side of the frame. Levers pivoted at each side of the frame and operable by power displace the supports from a location in which they close the bottom of the frame during lifting and transporting of the bales and open the bottom of the frame during discharge.
