The hydraulic siphon has pneumatic reflux, being incorporated in a w.c. flush system, and being designed to operate in a header tank at any level above an entry to a discharge pipe, i.e. the height is not critical to function. a hollow cylindrical housing (12) may be connected to an air pump (P) having a bell shaped based (10) which fits into an enlarged socket (13) to the discharge pipe (6) and accommodating a plunger of a triple co-axial tube construction. The inner tube (9) is open top and bottom and extends into the discharge pipe, the intermediate tube (15) having a closed top and an oblique base, and the outer tube (14) being closed at the base only. A baffled airway (A, B) is thus, provided between the discharge pipe and the top (D) of the housing, the outer tube supporting a float (14a) and the inner tube traversing an elastic membrane valve (8) located over the entry to the discharge pipe.
