Molluscicidal 2:halo benzamido 5:nitro thiazole(s) - prepd. from 2-amino 5-nitro thiazole and a halo benzoyl chloride

Molluscicidal agents of formula (I) (where R1 and R2 are each H or halo provided that both are not h) are new. (I) have similar activity to Nichlosamide but have low toxicity towards fish. Specifically claimed (I) are 2-(4-chloro-binazmido)-, 2-(3,4-dichloro-benzamide)- or 2-(4-bromo-benzamide) nitro-thiazole.
