The auxiliary strap (A) is used in conjunction with a three point fixing vehicle safety belt. The belt strap (t) passing across the chest is adjusted to the correct position and the auxiliary strap clipped (1) into place relieve the pressure on the wearer's chest. The auxiliary strap comprises an adjustable (12) elastic strip (1). One end of this is fixed (p) to a point on the vehicle bodywork (13). The free end is clipped onto a buckle which is passed around the belt chest strap. This buckle has three parallel arms, joined at the ends which are slit for rapid attachment and removal.
