The ornamental external furniture hinge uses head and foot pins (4) connected to the furniture by horizontal bolts (5, 6) with closed terminal circular eyelets (5a, 5b). The pins have a vertical cylindrical form with a truncated conical tip and segmented circumferential grooves separating grooves (7) for the eyelets. They also have a spigot (18) which enters a circular hollow section bridging post (3A). This tube is a continuous vertical spindle, engaged by spigots from the pins at the head and foot. The bolts connect the pin to the door and the frame (1) respectively, entering suitable holes to be secured by an end nut (16) or a morticed cylindrical block (8) with a tapped diametric bore. The block inc. an axial locking screw, and a similarly mounted intermediate pin is used with a two piece (3a) post.
