Portal frame triangular section lattice work members - supports non-rigid walls and internal fittings whilst forming maintenance walk-way

The tri-functional framework is used for temporary supple walled buildings e.g. concert halls, providing support for the walls and internal fittings e.g. stage lights whilst forming an access way for maintenance crews or operators. The basic structural components may comprise beams and columns which connect to obtain portal frames of various plan forms, each being of a lattice-work construction with a triangular cross-section. The unobstructed interiors of the beams and columns constitutes the access ways, the former inc. catwalks with handrails, and the latter inc. ladders with stage platforms. Walls and guys may be secured to the exterior of the frame with fittings and service cables secured internally. Column bases may be approximately flat, the conjunctive beam and column ends being bevelled at 45 deg. to facilitate the connections.
