A window frame set comprises a transparent pane of glass or plastic sheet with a peripheral flange which has superficial ramps and lips for engaging a pair of complementary frame profiles. The frame profiles are pref. identical prefabricated profiles with one rigid web to engage the pane flange and a curved semi-rigid web which can grip and seal against one edge of an opening in a wall to accept the frame. The design requires only two profile patterns to assemble a frame for supporting a window. Specifically the pane flange is made of a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer and/or the complementary frame profile is a toughened polystyrene moulding. The flanged pane may alternatively be of polymethacrylate, the frame profile of PVC or polycarbonate. Installation/removal requires only a screwdriver.
