The expansion screw is used for connecting constructional components affected by heat, and has a heat sleeve which encompasses its expansion shaft with reduced clearance. The sleeve outer diameter is at least equal to the thread outer diameter. The sleeve is built as a two-part casing, or can be of one-piece structure (12) which has an inner thread corresponding to the thread of the expansion screw. A further alternative casing formation is for it to be in two parts, with outer peripheral grooves, each of which takes a ring. The screw finds application in housings of high and medium pressure steam turbines.
