The solar panel heat transfer element (10) is made from a metal which has good heat conduction properties and is formed into an S shape, its ends being extended to form circumferences. The clip is spaced inside a double-walled tube (3), a vacuum existing between the inner (5) and outer (4) walls. Inside the tube are two pipes (1, 2), each carrying a heat conducting fluid and each pipe held within a fold of the S clip. The compressing action ensures good contact with the surfaces of the pipes.
