The dryer has a double walled outer casing (8) which houses a central grain container (1). The base of the dryer has air inlet fan (10) and a dry grain extractor conveyor (13). The grain tower is made up of a number of sections with horizontal passages through the grain to allow air circulation sideways and upwards. The top of the dryer is closed by means of plate valves (9) and the air is heated by a burner at the base of the dryer. The air is initially heated by one heater (15) and passes through the lower sections (41, 42, 43). It is then reheated by an additional heater (16) and passes through the remaining sections to the top of the dryer.
