The tool is intended as an attachment to be fitted to a garden cultivator, being driven by its integral power unit. It comprises a horizontal shaft mounted in a central bearing and provided with a row of discs set at regular intervals along its length. Each disc is circular and is fitted with a number of teeth set around its circumference to form a star arrangement. These teeth are normally triangular in shape and bolted in place, but semi-circular teeth or other shapes can also be used.
